Hi guys! I had some very surprising free time tonight so I decided to do a review! I've had these photos stored up for the longest time now and it's high time I get writing!
This foundation is definitely one of my go-to foundations for going out. Although it doesn't give as full coverage as the Shu Uemura one (in my opinion), it takes the most beautiful photos and your skin just looks like a porcelain doll. As you can see in the below photos, I do NOT have perfect skin, I break out a long during THAT time of the month and I hate it but it's just something that I have to live with! It has gotten better over time, before I use to full of break out but now I have 2-3 maybe, just around my chin area. And.... I am totally going off topic, typical A.D.D me! I think the photos will actually speak for themselves and I do apologise for having different lighting in the photos, I know it makes it more difficult to see but the important part is the end result and what you can achieve with this foundation!
(I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply this foundation)
Before (EEEEEEEEEEEK!!!):
After foundation, but before concealer:
After concealer and set with powder:
What Make Up Forever says about this product (taken from Make Up For Ever website):
"The MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Complexion products use innovative formulas to create a new generation of make up which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye. The HD Foundation is an oil-free medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. Its extremely fine texture is supple and easy to apply. Enriched with moisturizing agents, it leaves the skin soft and radiant. It is available in a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones. "
Pros:
- Thinner texture
- Medium coverage but very buildable
- Lightweight on the skin
- Great colour range
- HD friendly
- A little goes a long way
- Long lasting
- Natural looking - you skin still see your skin peeking through
Cons:
- I've heard this foundation makes some people breakout but I can not speak from first hand experience
- Pricey in Australia - $59 from MediaMakeupStore
- Hard to get in Australia - I know you can get it from MediaMakeupStore and PM Studio
- Packaging could be better
Final Thoughts:
This will forever be one of my all time favourite foundations just for the fact that it looks so gorgeous in photos. It covers well, yet still lets my natural skin peek through and is very comfortable on my dry/combination skin. I think it is a must have if you are working in the make up industry just for the pure fact it looks so gorgeous in photographs and on film.
I have the concealer and been using it for 2 years now! lol I havent tried their foundation but from your review, wow I definitely need to try it!
ReplyDeleteThe foundation looks really good on you! It really does make your skin look like a porcelain doll :D I've tried this in the past, but I didn't like how it made my skin feel very dry. I think the shade that the SA matched me with was also a bit off. I'm glad that it worked for you though!
ReplyDeleteI adore this foundation!! It looks amazing on you. Oh if you like this particular brand you NEED to try MFE Matte Valet...it's amazing!! It's probably my favorite foundation that i've tried.

ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing on you! I've always wanted to try this but its much more difficult to get here in the UK :(
ReplyDeleteYou can try gurumakeupemporium.com or preciousaboutmakeup.com
DeleteThey're both UK based and have MUFE products in stock :D
I've heard great things about the HD line and their foundations. I have the hydrating serum and I've tried the concealer which I found didn't provide enough coverage for me because of my heavy bags, but the texture was great nonetheless. I don't wear foundation... but I think this would be good to keep in the back of the drawer for those special occasions where you need to make sure you're in tip-top shape!
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing on you! I haven't used a high end foundation before, just because I have sensitive skin and I don't like to buy something new (especially if it's expensive) and it doesn't end up working on me. That's why I've been sticking to what I already know doesn't break me out. Is there such thing as foundation samples from beauty counters? Like the little satchets they sometimes stick in magazines? I'd love to try some high end foundations out if I could.. hmm.
ReplyDeleteMediamakeupstore actually sells samples if I'm correct? :) You should check our the website and see because I think they may sell samples or you can email them and ask for a sample, but you have to pay for the shipping :D
Deletei ADOREEEEE this foundation too!! i use to use Chanel but i'm a forever convert!! and yes pun totally intended!! hahaha
ReplyDeleteIt looks so great!! Flawless results!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to try this product ever since I read that Kourtney Kardashian swears by it, and from your photos I can see why! MUFE is still not widely available in the UK either, you have to go to Professional makeup stores to get hold of it, but I'm definitely going to make the added effort lol. I don't break out easily so here's hoping this works for me! Thanks for the review hun :) x
ReplyDeleteI was actually just telling Julie that you can get it from gurumakeupemporium and preciousaboutmakeup, as they are UK based and do ship as well! :D You should totally give it a try :D
DeleteI love my MUFE HD foundation. The application is so smooth and like you said, it photographs so well! Your review is exactly on par with what I think! The pictures are perfect and you look beautiful with and without make-up on! You're such a beauty <3
ReplyDeleteps. I would love to move to Australia, it's my dream country but I'd have to visit first juuuust to make sure hehe :D
xoxo,
Anca
$59?! Gosh... it's amazing though! I need some good foundation.. Oh, and I say your skin is lovely before AND after ;)

Your skin looks fabulous with this on! I have this foundation too! Love it! But prefer NARS Sheer Glw as you use much less of it therefore saves money! :D xo
ReplyDeletethis foundation is incredible!!! I usually use my bare minerals for every day, but for special occasions, or if I have a terrible breakout, I will use use this (also, b/c it is so pricy). It always surprises me that ppl compliment my skin when I'm wearing this foundation over my terrible breakouts lol... it looks better than my real skin when it's clear!! Great review :))
ReplyDeleteIt looks very nice on you! :) I love that it lets your skin breathe. There is nothing worse than a foundation masking your face!
ReplyDeleteGreat review and pictures Phoebe :) My younger sister has the MUFE HD Foundation and she let me try it over the Christmas Holidays. I found that it took a bit longer to dry/set than my Estee Lauder foundations, but once it set it is very nice as you said. I like how it's lightweight too and that the coverage is awesome. Much much better than ANY MAC foundation I have tried. But with that being said, I let my younger sister try my Estee Lauder Foundations (the Double Wear Matte and the Double Wear Light) and she really loved the Double Wear Matte. Have you tried any EL foundations before?
ReplyDeleteWow this does really look great on camera,
ReplyDeletethanks for your review, it makes me want to buy it even more !!

ReplyDeleteWow, as it said before, it's porcelain-y! I've been searching for a liquid foundation, so this MUFE one catches my attention too. :) Thanks for your review! :) Love your blog!
