Laneige White Plus Renew Review - Eeeeek!!

Oh where do I start with thee... I really wanted to love this line, I really did, and I even stuck it out and used it for a few weeks but what it did to my skin, I can't even grasp how I could remotely tolerate it. Don't you girls worry, I've heard many success stories with this line, but it is just not for me. Sorry for the very ugly photo below but this is what my skin looks like at the moment.

I've always prided myself to have nice skin and at the moment I can't even stand looking at myself, that's how bad it's gotten. I've never broken out like this ever in my life and actually have like 6 pimples at a time. This is the worst that my skin has looked, EVER. I usually do get the odd spot here and there, but ONLY and ONLY EVER on my chin, this has spread to under my nose, on my cheeks and on my forehead. This is has such a blow to me, and it's probably why I haven't done so many proper FOTD posts lately, because I hate having so much concealer/base make up on.

I'm not really too sure what particular ingredient within this particular line made me breakout like this and I'm still researching although I think it was just a case of it not agreeing with my skin.

This product did smell nice and fresh but that's all as far as the positives. I didn't see any particular lightening or brightening effect but that may be due to the fact that I did only use it for a few weeks and this line needed more time to address the pigmentation issue.

I'm just super bummed because this line wasn't exactly cheap and I wanted to love it so much but I couldn't :( At the moment I am ordering Mario Badescu products and am just waiting for that order to process because I HATE having terrible skin and this is just so bad (for me personally). My Purity cream cleanser also arrived today so I will start using that as well. I know I should count my lucky stars that I don't have skin as bad as other people but doing make up and looking presentable is part of my job so it's been really hard for me to deal with.

And with that note... I hope all of you girls are well! I will do a post updating what my skin is like once I start using the Mario Badescu line!

xo

  1. What a shame it didn't work for you, usually Laneige has such great reviews! I was browsing through sasa.com a week ago, and i actually considered splurging on this particular line - the price didn't appeal to me however haha! I look forward to the Mario Badescu line review :)

  2. omg i'm so sorry ~~ I get that too when i use product that's too rich for my skin. It's like my skin rejecting it and showing me how horrified it is! Awesome review tho ~ it's good to hear both sides of the story and not just the "it's a good product" ~

hope your skin clears up asap!

& cute cute ysl clutch on your previous post ;)

  7. Yeah, Laneige products are really expensive. I bought a few of their products but always try to seek for cheaper alternative which is just as good and I can purchase locally.
