Nothing too drastic, just picked up a few necessities at the chemist, and also at Clarins!

Schwarzkopf Silhouette Hairspray - A lot of my hairdressing and hairstylist friends use this so I wanted to see what it was all about. Plus it was very cheap, this big can was only $7.99!
Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser - To be honest, not my favourite. I think it smells a bit funny and I find myself reaching for the Estee Lauder sample of their Perfectly Clean Cleanser more and more. Even my boyfriend likes the Estee Lauder one more! I think I'm training him right! :P
Clarins UV Plus Sunscreen - This is a mineral sunscreen that is very thin and very lightweight which was why I chose it. I've been using the Clinique City Block for the past 6 months and it's okay I guess but it's definitely not a favourite. I am loving this Clarins one so far, but I wish it came in a bigger bottle! It smells nice as well!
Dove Minimising Deodorant - Well deodorant is deodorant... But I do only use Dove roll on deodorant. I'm not exactly sure why, but it is my favourite. Especially just the original one, it's my favourite scent!
Garnier Tinted Roll-On - Another staple in my daily routine. I spoke a little bit about it in my 2011 favourites :)
L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray - Again, another staple that I spoke about in my 2011 favourites. It is definitely my favourite hairspray, I go through cans and cans of this stuff just because it doesn't make your hair crispy and it is so cheap! Maybe not as cheap as the Silhouette one but this can was only $7.99 too :)

My best friend just got a new job so we went out celebrating with KTV and a club :) I had to get ready in a rush (surprise, surprise!!) again hence the messy ish bed head which I am pretty partial to anyway :)

The first two pics is a perfect example of what the Make Up For Ever HD Powder will do to you in flash photography. As you can see, right next to my nose bridge, there's a white spot and that is actually what happens when you put even a little bit too much of the HD Powder on. How disgusting is that :( Thankfully I checked back on my photos while I was taking it and decided to just use my Make Up For Ever Super Matte Loose Powder on top to make the blobs go away.

Hey ladies! Just wanted to let all my Australian peeps know that Estee Lauder (David Jones) and Clarins (Myer) are having Gift With Purchase at the moment!! I love love LOVE GWP! It's the easiest way for me try new stuff from the brand and I've been dying to try Clarins skincare products as well as Estee Lauder!

With the Clarins GWP, you can actually pick out of 3 packs. I got the Hydrating one but there is Nourishing (where they have a fragrance, body lotion and all that sort) and also Uplifting (where they have the infamous Beauty Flash Balm, a fragrance and all that jazz). You have to buy 2 products, 1 has to be skincare but I think it is soooo worth it because as you can see, the product size is of ample size!

With the Estee Lauder GWP, you could actually customise your pack which I thought was genius! You can pick each product, custom to your skin, so for example, instead of the Daywear moisturiser, you could get the Resilience or even for the eyeshadow palette, you could get a palette with cooler colours. I LOVE it when Estee Lauder has good gifts!

For the final thing... TA DAAAA!!!! I got the eyeshadow palette for the giveaway! I picked my favourite brown colour and also a basic black because for a beautiful smokey eye, you'd only need this palette, but even if you wanted to use it in the day time, you could just do a wash of brown on the lid and line with the black! Hope you guys like it!!

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review

Hi guys! I had some very surprising free time tonight so I decided to do a review! I've had these photos stored up for the longest time now and it's high time I get writing!

This foundation is definitely one of my go-to foundations for going out. Although it doesn't give as full coverage as the Shu Uemura one (in my opinion), it takes the most beautiful photos and your skin just looks like a porcelain doll. As you can see in the below photos, I do NOT have perfect skin, I break out a long during THAT time of the month and I hate it but it's just something that I have to live with! It has gotten better over time, before I use to full of break out but now I have 2-3 maybe, just around my chin area. And.... I am totally going off topic, typical A.D.D me! I think the photos will actually speak for themselves and I do apologise for having different lighting in the photos, I know it makes it more difficult to see but the important part is the end result and what you can achieve with this foundation!

(I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply this foundation)

Packaging could be better

Final Thoughts:

This will forever be one of my all time favourite foundations just for the fact that it looks so gorgeous in photos. It covers well, yet still lets my natural skin peek through and is very comfortable on my dry/combination skin. I think it is a must have if you are working in the make up industry just for the pure fact it looks so gorgeous in photographs and on film.

I had a day off today so I went to my nearest Lush and decided to try the Big Shampoo and the lip scrubs because I heard they were AMAZING. I usually don't like the smell of Lush when I go there because I think it's really overwhelming but today, I was so excited to see everything I didn't even notice the smell!

I've just used the Big Shampoo and let me just tell you, it smells divine!! I'm not sure about whether it's given me extra volume and I would totally use it just for the smell of it.

The Mint Julep Lip Scrub, I actually tried already in the store and I swear, I've used it again when I got home because it makes your lips SO SO smooth and it taste nice >.

While I'm here, I should just announce that I have finally reached 500 followers! I just want to say that I'm so glad that I started blogging again, I've met some of the sweetest people and have re-discovered how much I enjoy blogging! Thank you guys for supporting my blog and I can't wait to do more and more posts for you guys!

I am still thinking about what to put into the giveaway and have finally decided on getting something from Inglot. I wanted to ask you guys whether you would rather get a 2 shadow palette or whether you guys would want the gel liner? OCC Lip Tar Review

Oh OCC Lip Tars.. Where do I even begin to describe how AMAZING this product is, not only for working make up artists, but for the general public. The pigmentation, the range of colours, how little you have to use, I can go on and on about the pros of this product but I will stop here so I can do the proper list below!

(L-R: Hush, Memento, Melange, Pageant, Trollop, Grandma, Safety Orange, NSFW, Katricia)

This is really all your need for your lips, well for normal lips... I have quite large, full lips so I need a bit more, but even so.. a little goes a LONG way!

Pros:

Pigmentation is AMAZING
Colour range
Long lasting - NSFW is sometimes hard for me to take off because it stains my lips.
Very cheap considering what you are getting - AU$16 from Makeup And Glow and Lehved.
Lightweight
So easy to mix and match colours to suit whatever you need
Lovely sheen

Cons:

Can be drying
Accentuates dry patches on your lips, so make sure that you exfoliate your lips VERY well before using this.
Can stain your lips
Separates when you keep them still for too long but all you have to do is just shake it and it'll be fine to use again

(One of my favourite shades, Trollop)

Final thoughts:
I don't know what I would do with this product while I am out freelancing. The NSFW shade is my favourite red, it looks BEAUTIFUL on everyone I've ever put it on. I used it recently at a photoshoot and I kept going in to check if the colour was bleeding and it seriously lasted hours! It lasted until the model decided to take it off before going home! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to experiment with colours and mixing them up. I personally really want to get Anime, Beta, Interlace and Vintage next!

I've had a few people e-mail me about my hair colour and I don't know what to say because I asked for ashy sort of light brown but as you can see in the photo below, my hair is nowhere near ashy. Nonetheless, I still like it but I definitely need to re-dye my hair and do my roots, heavens almighty will you look at those roots! I also spot a white spot in my hair from the dry shampoo HAHAHA!

Tips & Tricks: Make up For Wearing Glasses

I love love LOVE big nerdy glasses and when I posted up a photo of me wearing one, the gorgeous Sharlene from *I-Lashes asked if I could do a tutorial on how to do make up for glasses! And although this isn't really a tutorial, it's more like tips that I have for wearing make up with glasses.

1. I don't know if any of you guys know this but I LOVE big eyebrows and I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. I think that with glasses, having brows that frame your face and your glasses is really important. Sometimes the glasses take focus, especially if it is a thicker frame but if you have strong eyebrows, it helps with making everything balanced.

2. Define your eyes. When I wear glasses, I think that you lose definition of your eyes and it gets lost because your glasses take focus away. Putting a colour that is a couple of shades deeper than your own skintone in the crease and also under your lower lashes help give that definition back. I also like doing a black gel liner on my top lash line with a bit of a flick to open up the eyes.

3. Don't put on too much mascara. I don't know whether it's just me but usually when I wear mascara, my lashes touch the glass part and it annoys the living day light out of me. So when I wear mascara, I always just put on 1 coat of mascara on the top lashes and focus more mascara on the bottom lashes.

It used to be MAC but now I'm more of a Make Up For Ever or Inglot kind of girl! I still love MAC, don't get me wrong, but I can't answer this question with MAC when all I like from them are their powder products.

I'm not a very fashion trend kind of person. Because I'm so short and not the skinniest girl, I have to dress with what suits my body type and not necessarily what is "In" at the moment. I have definitely loved the one shoulder trend though!

3. What is your favourite dessert?
Any dessert.. for serial... I am the biggest sweet tooth you could find. I can skip main course and go straight to dessert everyday.

Blue and purple.

Parian Spirit Review

As you all remember, I got this in my Makeup And Glow haul. I heart this thing so much it's unbelievable! I can't believe it took me so long to get this but like everything, it definitely has it's pros and cons.

What Parian Spirit says about this product (taken from the Parian Spirit website):

"Parian Spirit is made from citrus spirits and food grade solvents, giving it powerful cleaning properties that cut through oil-based makeup and adhesives but remains gentle to natural hair bristles. Just place your used brushes in a Parian Spirit

portable canister and gently agitate and watch the makeup and residue settle to the bottom of the container. Parian Spirit is also good for cleaning makeup off clothes, wigs,

false eyelashes and false facial hair."

Pros:

AMAZING at cleaning your brushes
Very efficient, a little goes a long way
Cheaper than MAC brush cleaner which was the other brush cleaner I used
Sturdy packaging
Cleans oil based product
Fast drying

Cons:

It smells strongly like orange/mandarin, like VERY VERY strong
Hard to get in Australia

How I use this product:

Getting a towel and pouring out a bit of the Parian Brush Cleaner onto a part of the towel.
Get the brush swirling on the towel with the brush cleaner on it.
Pull the bristles back into shape. (VERY important if you want your brush to keep it's shape for a long time)

Final thoughts:

I would definitely repurchase this over and over again. I need the teeniest bit of product to clean 2 brushes, which is more than I can say for my MAC brush cleaner. I also love how tightly sealed the bottle is, I've repurchased the MAC brush cleaner time and time again and I've always found that the bottle leaks (not a lot, but it's still annoying) when I travel on jobs which is such a hassle.

I actually had my MAC eyeshadows in the Stars Makeup Haven Palettes because they held 28 shadows but I found those palettes to be not very sturdy and I'm SO glad I decided with the Z-Palette because they are actually quite sturdy for something that's made with hard cardboard instead of the plastic which the Stars Makeup Haven Palettes are made out of. I also put in a few of my Stila eyeshadows which I couldn't bring to my shoots before because they were just in the pots.

I'm very very impressed with the Z-Palettes so far, so let's see how I go when I bring them onto shoots!

Shu Uemura Face Architect Illuminating Moisture Fluid Foundation Review

May I just start with, good gosh this foundation has the longest name in the world! I really do not like when foundations have really long names because I have the memory of a goldfish and I keep forgetting it!

With that said, this is actually one of my favourite foundations to use when I go out at night. It gives the most beautiful coverage for my dry-combination skin and even though from the name, you'd think that it wouldn't be full coverage, it is!

The texture is thicker than what I'm used to as you can see from the photos and it's like a gel yet creamy texture which is a first for me.

I find this foundation super moisturising and is really comfortable to wear even after I set it with powder, which can sometimes make my face feel tight and even though it is a moisturising foundation, I find the lasting power amazing.

What Shu Uemura says about this foundation (taken from the Shu Uemura website):

Pros:

Great for dry-combination skin
Dewy effect - which is my favourite, I am not one for matte finish foundation.
Lasts on the skin for a long time
Medium-full coverage - I sometimes don't really need to conceal if I use this foundation.
Feels comfortable on the skin
A little goes a LONG way
Great colour selection for Asian skin tones

Cons:

Expensive - I got mine from Strawberrynet for $50 but I bet if you buy it retail, it would cost way more.
27ml of product which I find very strange since universally, foundations are usually 30ml.
Sometimes if you don't moisturise the skin properly, it can snag on dry/flaky skin which I have found is the same with al the foundations I use anyway.
Funny scent - not BAD but it's an odd scent and I can't put my finger on what it smells like.

As I said before, I think that this is a great foundation for those with dry-combination skin because of the dewy finish and because of how moisturising it is.

Would I repurchase this... maybe... and I know I said that this is one of my favourite foundations and it is but I am always trying different foundations and am always looking for new and better foundations to use. I am really interested in the Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation so maybe I will try that after I'm done with this one.

I've been wanting to try the Z-Palette for awhile now and FINALLY, after purchasing the La Femme blushes with this order, I took the plunge that ordered 1 large one on the Lehved 20% off the ENTIRE store sale and.... I LOVE IT!! I've already bought two more from Makeup And Glow but more on that haul later.

I also bought 2 more OCC lip tars which I find amazing for work and I've been wanting the Memento colour for yonks but they were always out of stock. Silly me though, I forgot to get the one that I REALLY wanted (Anime) and realized it only when I my order came!

Make Up For Ever Haul!

So, Make Up For Ever stuff can only be purchased at a few places here in Australia. I always get my stuff from Media Makeup Store because as a make up artist, I get 25% off (lucky me!) but comparing the prices to here and overseas... it is still cheaper overseas, even WITH my discount, how crazy is that!

I wanted to get the HD foundation because I LOVE them, they look beautiful in photos and I can also use them with my airbrush machine (once my Make Up For Ever Thinner arrives from UK!) so I don't have to carry 2 different sets of foundation.

I also got some HD products because I've heard so many great things about them. I got the HD Elixir, Primer and the Powder. I do think they're great products but after seeing gossmakeupartist's video about the HD powder, it scared then bajeesus out of me, which led to my other purchase of the Super Matte Loose Powder which he said was fabulous.

The rest were just random things I've wanted to try and after trying them out, I do love their lipglosses. They're not sticky, they smell yummy and they stay on very well!

I will also be posting up my haul from Lehved soon! (Who are having a 20% off sale at the moment! Get on it ladies!!) They just arrived yesterday and I'm picking up my package from Makeup And Glow today! Eeeeep! I get so excited when I get new products!

MAC Blushes Swatches

I don't own many MAC blushes, for the sole reason that I like NARS blushes better but even NARS blushes I only have 2! I think I've never really been a "blush" person but now that I do make up for work I've been slowly collecting then. I've got an order of La Femme blushes coming which I've heard from gossmakeupartist are amazing.

My favourites out of the MAC blushes are definitely Fleur Power and Harmony. I think that Fleur Power is such a gorgeous colour on paler skin tones and Harmony rocks my socks in contouring.

R.I.P my sweet sweet Pro Lumiere! I completely and utterly was devastated when I heard that the Chanel Pro Lumiere was being discontinued! It was my go-to foundation in my kit and it gave the most BEAUTIFUL finish. This foundation is perfect for people with dry-combination skin in my opinion, because it gives such a gorgeous luminosity without looking oily. If you have oily skin, I would not suggest this because I find that in the hot heat that is Australia, people with oily skin tend to get shiny very quickly.

I know it's cruel to be swatching something you guys can't buy (though I do know that Strawberrynet still has #10 Limpide for sale.. Grab it up ladies!) but I couldn't help it.

Sigh... Parting is such sweet sorrow my dear Pro Lumiere :(

I adore Chanel nail polishes and this particular one is amongst my favourite. It's a glittery nail polish which I don't usually like but the sparkles are so fine that it just looks gorgeous.

I just put in an order for some Make Up For Ever products so I'll be doing a haul very soon because I am replacing my Chanel Pro Lumiere in my kit for the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. I'm so excited!

I worked with the fabulous Shirin Carter (Ragdoll Photography) for her Foto Freo entry late last year and it was honestly one of most favourite time shooting. We actually had 2 girls doing the photoshoot but in the photo below, there is only 1 of them in the shot.

We were in the Old Treasury Building in the city and it is seriously one of the most hauntingly beautiful places I've ever been to. It's actually closed off from the public as it is an abandoned building and Shirin wanted to shoot there before they tear down and renovate the interior.

I can't wait to show you guys the rest of the shots!

Jakarta Trip 2011

This was my trip to my home town Jakarta and my oh my do I miss that place already! I come back at least once a year and even that's not enough! I just love that there are so many things to do at any time of the day and of course, my extended family lives there so it's nice to be able to go see them whenever I want.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt, just for the pure fact that there are 2 malls if you go downstairs, and if you've ever been to Jakarta, or any Asian country really, you know how BAD the traffic gets. It literally takes 2 hours to go to somewhere that is 5 minutes away!

Inglot Palettes - Swatches - Part 1

Hi guys! I have decided that I will start blogging some more since I have a week or so break! The first thing I wanted to do was to do swatches of my Inglot palettes.

I went kind of nuts over these palettes and totally bought more than I should but I love them to bits!

They are so pigmented, easy to work with and so compact. The packaging is also very sturdy, which is also a negative about the palettes because the palettes are quite heavy compared to the MAC ones.

I've organized the palettes by colours so here they are... I've only swatched my blues, brights and blush palette today... I will post up the neutrals tomorrow!

I had the most amazing time in Bali. We got to stay at a private cliff top villa called The Istana and it was beyond GORGEOUS! I got to witness and do the make up for a friend's wedding and it was honestly, the best wedding I've ever been to.
