KKCenterHK Lashes Review

Hi guys! Before I start my review... I just want to explain why I've been so M.I.A. I've just been so burnt out lately, I've been working pretty much everyday until today and just physically and mentally a bit burnt out. I've been meaning to get this review out a LOT earlier but just hadn't had the energy to do it because as you all know, I've started going to the gym pretty much everyday now and that's where all my effort has gone. I've missed reading everyone's posts soooo much and I'm definitely going to cut back on my workload because I don't think it's healthy for me to keep going on like this!

Now onto the review...

Disclaimer: I was sent this product to review by kkcenterhk. I was not paid or compensated for this review. All opinions are my own and will always be for my reviews.

The lashes that I got were called ES A562 (which you can get here) and when I got them, to be honest, I think I may have underestimated how long they actually were! They were quite long and thick and I was worried about how I was going to use it as I don't usually use lashes this long.

You get 10 pairs of this handmade lashes and the quality is superb. Very comparable to the lashes that I use at the moment which are the Elise, Ardells and Red Cherries.

I initially had trouble putting these on as I find that they flare upwards ever so slightly, making it look really silly and I had to keep pushing it down and squishing it against my own lashes to make sure that they stayed that way.

Pros:
  • Their shipping was impeccable and the product got to me VERY quickly.
  • They have SOOOO many different types of lashes to choose from on the website. I could spend hours on there.
  • Very thin, transparent stem which made blending it into my own lash line effortless.
  • Soft hair and looks natural if put on properly.
  • As you can see from the photos, even though the lashes are long and relatively full, they're not overwhelming.
  • Re-usable if taken off with a non oil based cleanser.
  • The package was wrapped so carefully, even the box was dented, which I was very surprised about.
  • Very very reasonably priced. At $16.00 for 10 pairs, it works out to be $1.60 for 1 pair.
Cons:
  • A bit difficult to work with because of the lashes' tendency to flip upwards a little bit.
  • The website can be slow to load which frustrates me, but then again, my patience is atrocious.
I hope you have enjoyed my little review ladies! I did get a coupon code for you guys to use if you wanted to buy something from there. It entitles you to 10% off your shopping cart!

Another Mini Haul + Update

My days are literally just whooshing past me.. If you guys don't know, I actually do work in an office casually, for the days that I'm not doing make up just for some extra money and for some security, because if you're a make up artist, I know you'd know that sometimes you go a week or two without jobs and I still need an income for those days! So as you guys can imagine, it does get quite busy and also...... I'VE BEEN GOING TO THE GYM! I know, it's a shock... I am not one to exercise and stuff but I feel like I've gained a lot of weight (or maybe a little but because I'm short, it looks like a LOT) so I've decided to work out again. I mean, if you guys can see photos from a few years ago on this blog, you can see how thin I was, I didn't get that thin very healthily but I definitely am not going to go into that in this post! I have accepted that I'm just naturally not a thin person, I will always have a little bit of fat but I want to be the best that I could be and I plan on doing it more healthily this time around!

Now without further ramblings on my behalf, these are a few things I've bought in the past week:

  1. Lush Dirty - This is just a hair product that gives that dirty (Haha!) effect, it gives more texture to your hair and so far, it's meh.. It's okay but not super great, but I mean, my hair is super stubborn, it does NOT like getting messy nor does it ever want to stay that way!
  2. Lush Dirty Toothy Tabs - Impulse purchase at the till because I saw that it was only like $3.49 so I decided to buy it. It tastes so odd... but I do admit it does clean your teeth very well!
  3. MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul - I've heard so many great things about this blush from YouTube gurus that I've decided to purchase it and I have to say that I LOVE it! I've been using it everyday that I've worn make up since I've purchased it and it may become my  HG blush.
  4. Steamcream - I heard about this product from the lovely Lisa Eldridge who is my favourite person on YouTube to watch and if you guys haven't seen her stuff.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do yourselves a favourte and check it out! She is flipping amazing at what she does and I love the fact that she actually IS a renowned make up artist! Anyway, this is just a moisturising cream which has the oddest consistency! I was expecting it to be really thick but it was sooo light yet so moisturising! It does leave a greasy kind of feeling (which is why I wouldn't use it for my face) but my hands felt SOOOO lush after the product has sunken in.
  5. kkcenterhk Lashes - I was sent these to review and I actually received it today so I will be reviewing it within the next few days!

My Hair Loves Lush!

My hair totally in love with the Big Hair Shampoo! Although I didn't see that much of a difference at first, I kept getting compliments on my hair so it must be working! I think it is softer, has more body and just more healthy looking for it's length. Although the shampoo didn't meet my expectation in that I was hoping for huge volume, I do still love it and will purchase the I Love Juicy Shampoo next! It smells too delicious! I smell a Lush obsession coming...

Can you believe that all these photos are of my hair just air dried??? Obviously some hairspray in the second photo but the 1st and 3rd are AU NATUREL baby!

Mini Haul

Nothing too drastic, just picked up a few necessities at the chemist, and also at Clarins!
  1. Schwarzkopf Silhouette Hairspray - A lot of my hairdressing and hairstylist friends use this so I wanted to see what it was all about. Plus it was very cheap, this big can was only $7.99!
  2. Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser - To be honest, not my favourite. I think it smells a bit funny and I find myself reaching for the Estee Lauder sample of their Perfectly Clean Cleanser more and more. Even my boyfriend likes the Estee Lauder one more! I think I'm training him right! :P
  3. Clarins UV Plus Sunscreen - This is a mineral sunscreen that is very thin and very lightweight which was why I chose it. I've been using the Clinique City Block for the past 6 months and it's okay I guess but it's definitely not a favourite. I am loving this Clarins one so far, but I wish it came in a bigger bottle! It smells nice as well!
  4. Dove Minimising Deodorant - Well deodorant is deodorant... But I do only use Dove roll on deodorant. I'm not exactly sure why, but it is my favourite. Especially just the original one, it's my favourite scent!
  5. Garnier Tinted Roll-On - Another staple in my daily routine. I spoke a little bit about it in my 2011 favourites :)
  6. L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray - Again, another staple that I spoke about in my 2011 favourites. It is definitely my favourite hairspray, I go through cans and cans of this stuff just because it doesn't make your hair crispy and it is so cheap! Maybe not as cheap as the Silhouette one but this can was only $7.99 too :)

FOTD: Girls Night Out

My best friend just got a new job so we went out celebrating with KTV and a club :) I had to get ready in a rush (surprise, surprise!!) again hence the messy ish bed head which I am pretty partial to anyway :)

The first two pics is a perfect example of what the Make Up For Ever HD Powder will do to you in flash photography. As you can see, right next to my nose bridge, there's a white spot and that is actually what happens when you put even a little bit too much of the HD Powder on. How disgusting is that :( Thankfully I checked back on my photos while I was taking it and decided to just use my Make Up For Ever Super Matte Loose Powder on top to make the blobs go away.

Face:

  • Make Up For Ever HD Foundation #117
  • Garnier Tinted Roll On
  • Vichy Dermablend - on my blemishes
  • Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector
  • Make Up For Ever HD Powder (big mistake!)
  • Make Up Forever Super Matte Loose Powder
  • La Femme Blush - Naturelle
  • MAC Blush - Harmony

Eyes:
  • Revlon Colourstay Quad - Sultry Smoke (Just like the one in my giveaway!) - used the black and the grey and the lightest colour as highlight.
  • Inglot Gel Liner
  • L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara
Lips:
  • MAC Clear Lipglass

Lookie Lookie What I Got...! (Clarins + Estee Lauder GWP + Inglot)

Hey ladies! Just wanted to let all my Australian peeps know that Estee Lauder (David Jones) and Clarins (Myer) are having Gift With Purchase at the moment!! I love love LOVE GWP! It's the easiest way for me try new stuff from the brand and I've been dying to try Clarins skincare products as well as Estee Lauder!

With the Clarins GWP, you can actually pick out of 3 packs. I got the Hydrating one but there is Nourishing (where they have a fragrance, body lotion and all that sort) and also Uplifting (where they have the infamous Beauty Flash Balm, a fragrance and all that jazz). You have to buy 2 products, 1 has to be skincare but I think it is soooo worth it because as you can see, the product size is of ample size!

With the Estee Lauder GWP, you could actually customise your pack which I thought was genius! You can pick each product, custom to your skin, so for example, instead of the Daywear moisturiser, you could get the Resilience or even for the eyeshadow palette, you could get a palette with cooler colours. I LOVE it when Estee Lauder has good gifts!

For the final thing... TA DAAAA!!!! I got the eyeshadow palette for the giveaway! I picked my favourite brown colour and also a basic black because for a beautiful smokey eye, you'd only need this palette, but even if you wanted to use it in the day time, you could just do a wash of brown on the lid and line with the black! Hope you guys like it!!

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review

Hi guys! I had some very surprising free time tonight so I decided to do a review! I've had these photos stored up for the longest time now and it's high time I get writing!

This foundation is definitely one of my go-to foundations for going out. Although it doesn't give as full coverage as the Shu Uemura one (in my opinion), it takes the most beautiful photos and your skin just looks like a porcelain doll. As you can see in the below photos, I do NOT have perfect skin, I break out a long during THAT time of the month and I hate it but it's just something that I have to live with! It has gotten better over time, before I use to full of break out but now I have 2-3 maybe, just around my chin area. And.... I am totally going off topic, typical A.D.D me! I think the photos will actually speak for themselves and I do apologise for having different lighting in the photos, I know it makes it more difficult to see but the important part is the end result and what you can achieve with this foundation!

(I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply this foundation)

Before (EEEEEEEEEEEK!!!):

After foundation, but before concealer:

After concealer and set with powder:

What Make Up Forever says about this product (taken from Make Up For Ever website):
"The MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Complexion products use innovative formulas to create a new generation of make up which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye. The HD Foundation is an oil-free medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. Its extremely fine texture is supple and easy to apply. Enriched with moisturizing agents, it leaves the skin soft and radiant. It is available in a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones. "

Pros:
  • Thinner texture
  • Medium coverage but very buildable
  • Lightweight on the skin
  • Great colour range
  • HD friendly
  • A little goes a long way
  • Long lasting
  • Natural looking - you skin still see your skin peeking through
Cons:
  • I've heard this foundation makes some people breakout but I can not speak from first hand experience
  • Pricey in Australia - $59 from MediaMakeupStore
  • Hard to get in Australia - I know you can get it from MediaMakeupStore and PM Studio
  • Packaging could be better
Final Thoughts:
This will forever be one of my all time favourite foundations just for the fact that it looks so gorgeous in photos. It covers well, yet still lets my natural skin peek through and is very comfortable on my dry/combination skin. I think it is a must have if you are working in the make up industry just for the pure fact it looks so gorgeous in photographs and on film.

Lush Haul + 500 Followers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a day off today so I went to my nearest Lush and decided to try the Big Shampoo and the lip scrubs because I heard they were AMAZING. I usually don't like the smell of Lush when I go there because I think it's really overwhelming but today, I was so excited to see everything I didn't even notice the smell!

I've just used the Big Shampoo and let me just tell you, it smells divine!! I'm not sure about whether it's given me extra volume and I would totally use it just for the smell of it.

The Mint Julep Lip Scrub, I actually tried already in the store and I swear, I've used it again when I got home because it makes your lips SO SO smooth and it taste nice >.

While I'm here, I should just announce that I have finally reached 500 followers! I just want to say that I'm so glad that I started blogging again, I've met some of the sweetest people and have re-discovered how much I enjoy blogging! Thank you guys for supporting my blog and I can't wait to do more and more posts for you guys!

I am still thinking about what to put into the giveaway and have finally decided on getting something from Inglot. I wanted to ask you guys whether you would rather get a 2 shadow palette or whether you guys would want the gel liner? I wish I could get you guys both but I HAVE to, HAVE TO start saving up and I'm also adding in other drugstore products too in the prize :) Let me know in the comment sections what you guys think about the Inglot 2 eyeshadow palette or the gel liner!
